Jim and I decided to have a quiet 24th of July. We fixed a chicken pasta salad the day before. (It has to be the day before so that the red onions can begin to work.) Then that morning we took a hike to Donut Falls. Now I know that many would think, "What a woosy hike!" Not for me. I was grateful for the bottles of water and my dried bananas. Anyway, it was wonderful to be outside. There were still some wildflowers around. Jim was remembering Fathers and Sons campouts where Brad and his friends would make the hike from the Spruces 2-3 or more times in a day. Brad's comment on the memory was, "Wish I had the energy that I did when we were doing that!" Jim and I took our camera, but forgot to take any pictures so here is one from the internet.

Isaac, the Baseball Player
This week Jim and I traveled with Eric up to Malad to watch Isaac's baseball game. It was machine pitch. Isaac is over a head taller than all of the other players. When he got up to bat the coaches yelled to their team, "Move back, move back". Isaac wore long pants so he could slide into home for us.

What Do You Do In Denver!
What do you do in Denver? Well, in our family the number 1 thing to do is see a baseball game. We saw games with Tampa Bay and the Rockies. We couldn't believe how many home runs were hit at that park. We had a great time talking to the people around us. We had people from New York, Kansas City, and even Aspen. Would you believe that it takes @3 hours one way to get to Aspen from Denver. This was reported by the sushi chefs from Aspen who were sitting by us. Makes you really appreciate living in Utah where the ski resorts are so close. Anyway, we were able to stay in downtown Denver so we walked everywhere. The only bad part about the trip was the marathon ride home all in one day. (These pictures were from our fantastic seats at the game.)

Denver Trip
Yes, it's about time I put in another entry. Two weeks ago Jim and I traveled over to Denver. Yes, we drove! What a long way. We took the Wyoming route. We stopped overnight in Cheyenne. What an exciting town it is. We were amazed that it is the state capital?! While there we noticed not much, but we did happen to catch this wonderful billboard. Such a positive thought

While in Cheyenne we stayed at the Little America Motel for old times' sake. Boy, did that bring back memories from trips to Salt Lake with mom. The room up there was exactly the same as those in SLC complete with pop bottle opener in the bathroom.
